Profile
Prof. Nseabasi Akpan is an accomplished scholar of Sociology and Anthropology who started his teaching career with University Uyo as a Teaching Assistant and has risen to the peak of his career.
He holds a BSc. in Sociology, MSc. in Rural/Community Development, and a Ph.D. Rural Development from University of Cross River State, Uyo and University of Uyo respectively.
At University of Uyo, he lectures 16 undergraduate courses and 13 postgraduate courses. He has also handled responsibilities such as Acting Director, Public Order and Information Management, Head, Department of Sociology and Anthropology etc.
Outside the University, his hard work and resilience has brought about appointment such as Honourable Commissioner for Ministry of Lands and Town Planning and Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Education both for Akwa Ibom State Government. His merritorious services in whatever he is assigned to do has fetched him awards such as The Most Outstanding Commissioner Special Award presenter By Yoruba Community, Akwa Ibom State, Pillar of Youth Education Excellence Award by Youth for Liberation and Empowerment International etc.
He holds membership with some high profile professional bodies such as World Council on Curriculum and Instruction, National Association of Sociology and Anthropology (NASA).
His deep research in Rural/Community Development has given birth to Journal Articles, Books Chapters. Majority are open access on this knowledgebase, Researchgate and Google Scholar.
He is married and blessed with beautiful children.
